Pen and Wash Class

🎨 Pen and wash is a painting technique where waterproof ink is first used to outline the shape of an object on paper, expressing texture and light and shadow through linework, and then a simple layer of color is added to enhance the visual appeal of the painting. Compared to pure watercolor, pen and wash offers a more detailed and specific depiction of the object's form, and the coloring process is simpler—there’s no need for the complex color variations and layering common in traditional watercolor. It’s perfect for daily life recording, outdoor sketching, or creating illustrations with a fresh and light style.

✨ Just like our watercolor course, our pen and wash course is also divided into beginner and advanced classes, with six lessons per stage. Each lesson includes technique explanations and corresponding exercises, covering topics from shaping, linework, and coloring to practice with different subjects such as landscapes, still lifes, plants, and food. At the end of each lesson, you'll have a small piece of artwork to take home.

 

🎨钢笔淡彩是先用防水墨水在纸上勾勒出物体形态、用排线等方式表达质感与明暗，再用简单的一层颜色为画面增添色彩感的绘画方式。与纯粹的水彩相比，钢笔淡彩对物体的形体描绘更加的具体且细节化，且着色方式简单，不需要像常规水彩一样做非常丰富的颜色变化和叠加，非常适合日常记录生活、外出写生或是绘制一些插画风格与小清新风格的绘画～
